British Orienteering - Teaching Orienteering

British Orienteering has developed a Teacher training pathway aimed at teaching through schools and outdoor education, by people who need to know the basics of Orienteering instruction but do not wish to proceed to be assessed after the training.

Leadership & instructing

Caving (no vertical pitches) Permit Training

This course is designed to teach the specific skills needed to lead a group in a cave system with no vertical pitches. Both training and assessment courses use caves in North Yorkshire.

Climbing Top Rope Permit Training

This course is designed to teach specific skills in leading a group in single pitch top rope climbing and managing up to two belay systems at once. 

How much? £90 per person.   Yr Hafod £80 per person / £85 per person for 2020 courses

Emergency First Aid for the Outdoors

This two-day course is designed for people who use the outdoors for pleasure and instructing. It is suitable for a wide variety of instructors including permit holders, Scout leaders, canoeists and climbers.
