Mountain Leader Summer Assessment (18+)

Complete your summer Mountain Leader Assessment either in the Lake District or Snowdonia National Parks. This award is recognised as the UK’s national standard for taking groups into mountainous environments. Participants must have completed the prerequisites for the course and have registered with Mountain Training.

Great Tower

Courses based at Great Tower are delivered by Climb 365 in conjunction with Scout Adventures.

Yr Hafod

Scout Adventures Yr Hafod is a Mountain Training Cymru provider and delivers courses based from Yr Hafod.

How much? Assessment £255 for members and £365 for non-members.

When completing your Mountain Leader assessment, we may also be able to assess you for a Hillwalking Terrain 2 (summer) permit. Please contact us to discuss this in advance.

NSRA Air Rifle Shooting Tutor's Diploma (18+)

This two day course covers the law, range requirements, personal skills, maintenance and developmental techniques for leading air rifle sessions. Participants will leave with a Youth Proficiency Scheme qualification from the National Small-bore Rifle Association.

How much? £170 per person members £230 non-members. Scout Grants Committee funding may be available.

Rafting B1 (Traditional) Permit Training and Assessment

This two day course will train and assess the competence of candidates to lead groups in traditional rafting activities. Permits may be restricted to specific classes of water or locations.

How much? £100 per person. B1 Waters, £125 B2 Waters.  Scout Grants Committee funding may be available.

Emergency First Aid for the Outdoors

This two-day course is designed for people who use the outdoors for pleasure and instructing. It is suitable for a wide variety of instructors including permit holders, Scout leaders, canoeists and climbers.
