Scottish Orienteering - Introduction to Orienteering

Introduction to the basic skills of orienteering and some games and activities to teach and develop them.

Leadership & instructing

Top Rope Climbing Permit Assessment

This course is designed to assess the specific skills of leading a group in single pitch top rope climbing and managing up to two belay systems at once.

How much? Assessment £90 per person / £95 per person for 2020 courses.  Scout Grants Committee funding may be available.

The aims for this course are to be flexible to the participants needs as possible so on Saturday morning when all meet to come up with a plan for the weekend with the instructor.

Winter Skills Training

The course is aimed at those with summer hill walking experience who wish to progress into winter hill walking.  The weekend course aims to introduce participants to the personal skills required to walk safely in Scottish winter conditions.

It is NOT an award to lead others in winter conditions.

How much? £260; £150 (for members of the UK Scout Association who are based in Scotland)
