What is Scout Adventures?

Scout Adventures is part of the Scouts here in the UK, we are a network of centres across the country.  Our aim is to provide opportunities for life changing experiences for young people through the provision of residential experiences and adventurous activities.   To find out more have a look at the about us section and our centres pages

"Volunteering with Scout Adventures is the best decision I've ever made, I gained skills that I will take with me to every aspect of life, whether that be in my studies, at work, or just socially."

    Green Champions

Join us in 2021 to inspire a generation of young people to be Green Champions, and have the adventure of a lifetime.

We’re recruiting a team of UK based green volunteers to join Scout Adventures and help us make a difference to local communities and to the planet.

We’ll train you on our instructor programme, then, working in small teams, you’ll take the adventure to the people!  You’ll be delivering the Green Champion programme both on our centres and in the heart of communities, as well as being a tutor on the Green Young Leader programme – using your knowledge and experience to train 14-18 year olds how to teach others.

This is an extension to the opportunities above.  You’ll work alongside the rest of the team with the option to do this full time or on a flexible basis.

We are specifically looking for people who are passionate about the planet and enthusiastic about education.  To join us for this opportunity you’ll need to already have some understanding of environmental issues, it’s likely you’ll have a relevant A-level (or equivalent experience) and you might even be studying a relevant subject at University.

"Whether you’re looking for experience working with young people, want to take a year out before your next steps or just love the outdoors, a placement with Scout Adventures is for you. Sharing daily life, both at work and in your free time, with your fellow volunteers is one of the things that makes the Scout Adventures experience so special. You’ll start your placement with a truly diverse team of individuals, but quickly realise you have more in common than you could have imagined. The best part for sure is you’ll finish your placement with a second family - and a stack of Scout Adventures memories that will last a lifetime."
