Active Adventures at Gilwell Park: Summer holidays

Active Adventures is the ultimate outdoor adventure club for children aged 8 – 16 designed to inspire, excite, and encourage a love for the great outdoors. From thrilling outdoor challenges to nature-based sessions, from teambuilding activities and exciting outdoor pursuits – every day is an active adventure with us! Set in the stunning locations of Gilwell Park children will take part in a daily jam-packed programme of outdoor activities throughout the week. Run, climb and explore the great outdoors with action packed adventures designed to keep them active and engaged. Our expert instructors create a safe and supportive environment where they can unplug from screens, build confidence, work as a team and develop essential life skills – all while having unforgettable fun!

What’s on offer:
- Rise to the challenge of our high-energy adventures, such as archery, ziplining and climbing.
- Take part in fun team building games and problem-solving tasks.
- Hands-on outdoor survival sessions such as shelter building, backwards cooking and fire lighting.
- Connect with the natural world with mindful activities such as outdoor arts and craft, wildlife spotting and nature walks.

Dates and times:
Monday 20th July to Thursday 27th August (excluding Thursday 23 & Friday 24 July)
Activities run from 9am to 5pm. To support your working day, we do offer a early drop off/late collection service for no additional charge. Drop off from 8.00am, collect by 5.30pm
Participants can attend individual days or the entire week.

Cost:
£35 per day, per child.
£157.50 for 5 day block book - save 10%.
For every additional child booked - save 10%.

Gilwell Park Summer Jamboree

A summer of adventure, culture and campfire fun at Gilwell Park!

This summer, Gilwell Park comes alive with the Gilwell Park Summer Jamboree. A four-week programme packed with adventure, friendship and international Scout spirit. Running from 27 July to 23 August, the Summer Jamboree offers evening activities from Monday to Saturday (7pm–8.30pm) plus a special Sunday adventure day with daytime and evening celebrations.

Visitors staying at Gilwell Park can dip into a mix of fun challenges, cultural exchanges and classic camp traditions. From the Gilwell Park Challenge, Badge Night, and Games Night, to a lively BBQ and Carnival, there’s something happening every evening. Saturdays close the week with a traditional Gilwell campfire, while Sundays invite groups to share their culture with others from around the world.

Take part in activities, complete the Friendship Challenge and earn the exclusive Gilwell Park Summer Jamboree badge as you make memories, meet new friends and celebrate Scouting together.

Gilwell Reunion 2026

The original weekend camp that inspires, energises and celebrates adults at Scouts. From Friday 4 to Sunday 6 September 2026, Gilwell Park will come alive with an incredible programme of activities, workshops and entertainment. 2026 is the Gilwell Reunion centenary year, so expect an extra special event!

Discover lifelong skills, explore inspiring programme ideas and embrace new challenges. Reunion is more than just a weekend of programme support. It's a chance to connect with like-minded Scouts, make new friends and reminisce with old ones.

Woodland Adventure Day at Gilwell Park

Calling all Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs, Rainbows, and Brownies – get ready for an unforgettable day out in the wild for our Woodland Adventure Day.

Join us deep in Gilwell Park’s woodland in the heart of historic Epping Forest for a full day of action-packed activities and natural discovery. Whether you're aiming for your Scouts Naturalist Badge or just looking for some outdoor excitement, there's something for everyone!

Get involved in nature fun - Immerse yourself in the woodland with a variety of fun & interactive nature connection activities, discover fascinating wildlife, and explore the wonders of our flora and fauna – all while building skills, friendships, and memories.

Sessions include bushcraft, backwoods cooking, grass sledging, nature trails, shelter building, pond dipping and more.

Plan your day:
- Arrive by 9am to check in and be ready for action by 10am
- Lunch break: 12:30pm – 1:30pm (bring a packed lunch and maybe grab a souvenir from our shop)
- Departures from 5pm

£22 per person.
All leaders go free within ratio. £5 per leader, thereafter.
Please note, no VAT is charged on event bookings for Girlguiding members.
